1. About us

This website is operated by The Guild of Jewellery Designers Ltd, trading as Wax Seal Stamps UK ("we", "us", "our"), of 44 Hockley Street, Hockley, Birmingham B18 6BH, United Kingdom. You can contact us by email at sales@guildofjewellerydesigners.co.uk or by phone on +44 (0)121 630 3362.

These terms apply to every order you place through this website. Please read them before ordering. By placing an order you agree to them.

2. Your order and our contract

When you place an order you are offering to buy the products in your basket. The contract between us starts only when we email you to confirm that we have accepted your order. We may decline an order, for example if a product is unavailable, if artwork is unsuitable, or if there is an error in the price or description. If we decline after taking payment, we will refund you in full.

3. Prices and VAT

All prices are shown in pounds sterling (£) and include UK VAT at the applicable rate. Any delivery charge is shown to you before you pay. If we discover an obvious error in a price before we accept your order, we will contact you and you may choose to continue at the correct price or cancel.

4. Minimum quantities

Some products have a minimum order quantity. This is shown on the product page and applied in your basket.

5. Personalised items and artwork

Many of our products are personalised or made to your specification. When you supply text, initials, logos or artwork:

  • you confirm that you own it or have permission to use it, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights;
  • you are responsible for checking spelling, wording and the content you supply — we will reproduce it as provided;
  • we may decline or ask you to amend artwork that is not suitable for a clean engraving or impression, or that we consider offensive or unlawful.

Because of the handmade nature of wax seals and engraving, small variations in colour, finish and impression are normal and are not a fault.

6. Payment

Payment is taken in full when you place your order, using the payment methods shown at checkout.

7. Delivery

We deliver only to the countries listed at checkout. Delivery charges and options are set out on our Delivery page and at checkout. Responsibility for the goods passes to you once they are delivered to the address you gave us. Please make sure your delivery address is correct.

8. Cancellations and returns

Personalised and made-to-order items — including custom stamps, engraved seals and anything made with your text, initials or artwork — are made specifically for you. Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 they are not covered by the 14-day right to cancel, and we cannot accept returns of them unless they are faulty or not as described (see section 9).

Non-personalised items: if you are a consumer you may cancel within 14 days of receiving your goods without giving a reason. Tell us in writing (email is fine), then return the items unused and in their original condition within 14 days of telling us. We will refund the price and standard delivery cost within 14 days of receiving the goods back. Unless the items are faulty, you pay the cost of returning them.

9. Faulty or incorrect items

Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If an item arrives faulty, damaged, or not as described — including a personalised item that does not match the details you supplied — please contact us within 30 days of delivery with your order details and, where possible, photographs. We will offer a repair, replacement or refund as your legal rights require.

10. Our liability

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses if you are a consumer. We do not exclude or limit liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

11. Business and wholesale customers

If you buy as a business, the consumer rights described in sections 8 and 9 do not apply in the same way. Our total liability to a business customer is limited to the price paid for the relevant order, and we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue or business opportunity. Wholesale orders may be subject to additional terms agreed in writing.

12. Your information

We use your personal information only as described in our Privacy policy.

13. Complaints, law and changes

If you have a problem, please contact us first using the details in section 1 — we will do our best to put things right. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK you may also bring proceedings in your local courts. We may update these terms from time to time; the version that applies to your order is the one shown on this page when you placed it.
